WaMu Makes Final Push In Support Of Ch. 11 Plan

Law360, New York (December 7, 2010, 8:38 PM EST) -- Attorneys for Washington Mutual Inc. made their last arguments Tuesday in support of the company’s reorganization plan, claiming that shareholders and other objecting interests could not justify litigation as an alternative.

In the final day of confirmation hearings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Judge Mary F. Walrath dealt a blow to the objecting parties early on, ruling that she would not strike any specific testimony about the settlement asserted by WaMu advisers under the cover of attorney-client privilege.
