US Not Liable For Wash. Tar Cleanup, Judge Says

Law360, New York (December 8, 2010, 5:12 PM EST) -- A federal judge has ruled in favor of the federal government in a dispute with the Washington State Department of Transportation over tar pollution on the Tacoma waterfront, rejecting the state agency's claim that the U.S. should be a potentially responsible party because the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was involved in dredging the Superfund site.
