Senate OKs Program To Boost Judges' Patent Expertise

Law360, New York (December 14, 2010, 5:08 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate has signed off on a pilot program designed to help some federal judges boost their patent law expertise following the failures in committee of two similar bills seeking to speed up patent litigation.

The proposal passed by unanimous consent Monday with an amendment that eliminated $5 million in funding for training and clerkships to help support the program.
