China Fights WTO Approval Of US Tire Duties

Law360, New York (December 14, 2010, 1:43 PM EST) -- China said Tuesday it would appeal a World Trade Organization panel ruling approving the U.S. government's right to impose a stiff tariff on Chinese tire imports, as the two countries prepare for bilateral trade talks in Washington.

China regrets the WTO decision and is “deeply concerned” about the negative effects of the Obama administration's order to impose a three-year tariff on automotive and light truck tires, the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.
