FDA Warns Airgas Over Poor Records, Contamination

Law360, New York (December 14, 2010, 8:22 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cited Airgas Inc., the country’s largest specialty gas maker, for failing to investigate potentially contaminated batches of medical gas and prepare adequate product control systems at a manufacturing plant in Tennessee.

The FDA gave Airgas 15 business days to take corrective action related to at least three alleged violations of current good manufacturing practice regulations for finished pharmaceuticals produced at its Chattanooga, Tenn., medical gas facility, according to a warning letter the agency released Monday.
