Cabot To Pay $4.1M To End Gas Contamination Suit

Law360, New York (December 16, 2010, 4:15 PM EST) -- Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. has agreed to set up a $4.1 million escrow account for rural Pennsylvanians who allegedly suffered health problems from pollution caused by the company’s gas drilling operations.

Nineteen families in Dimock Township, Pa., whose water supplies were contaminated by natural gas leaks will receive a share of the money to use on their own terms, according to separate statements released Wednesday by Cabot and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
