Kan. Finalizes Air Permit For Sunflower Power Plant

Law360, New York (December 17, 2010, 2:08 PM EST) -- The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a final air permit for a controversial coal-fired electric plant Sunflower Electric Power Corp. is trying to build near Holcomb, Kan., despite the objections of environmental advocacy groups.

Thursday's grant of the permit is bound to provoke a review by the federal government, likely the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Sierra Club and Earthjustice said.
