Lancer's Garvey Makes 2nd Bid To Toss Fraud Case

Law360, New York (December 20, 2010, 8:26 PM EST) -- Lancer Group insider Martin Garvey on Monday made his second bid in a week to dismiss fraud charges against him related to an alleged $200 million investor swindle, arguing that the pace of the case violates the Speedy Trial Act.

Garvey, scheduled to go to trial in January, legally should have been tried no later than May 2008, he said in a dismissal motion in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
