Oppenheimer Can't Shield Internal Docs: Mass. Judge

Law360, New York (December 21, 2010, 7:14 PM EST) -- A Massachusetts judge has rejected Oppenheimer and Co. Inc.'s bid to shield internal records, including an e-mail between Bingham McCutchen LLP and a state securities regulator, which were at issue in an arbitration dispute with an ex-branch manager who claimed retaliation.

Judge Frances A. McIntyre of the Suffolk Superior Court said in a verbal order Monday that Oppenheimer may not protect the documents, though the state's appellate court granted the investment firm's bid for a temporary stay extending the impoundment the same day.
