BAA To Face Competition Commission's Scrutiny

Law360, New York (March 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After months of public consultation, the United Kingdom's Office of Fair Trading has decided to refer airports operator British Airports Authority to a higher antitrust body for further investigation.

The OFT revealed on Friday that it has officially handed over the investigation to the Competition Commission, wrapping up a long-standing inquiry into the U.K. airports market.

The competition watchdog had signaled its intention back in December to give the inquiry to the C.C. but chose to solicit public opinion on the situation before completing the transfer....
