WTO Orders Australia To Revise NZ Apple Policy

Law360, New York (December 22, 2010, 6:18 PM EST) -- The World Trade Organization's dispute settlement body has repudiated Australia’s severe restrictions on apples imported from New Zealand and formally called on the country to revise its quarantine policy.

At its meeting Friday, the dispute settlement body made its findings binding, giving Australia 30 days to inform the panel of its plans to do away with the ban on New Zealand apples and open its markets to the fruit.
