Senate Confirms EEOC Chairwoman, General Counsel

Law360, New York (December 23, 2010, 1:55 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate has voted to confirm several members of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, including the agency's chairwoman and general counsel, extending the tenure of appointees who had been serving under recess appointments.

The Senate voted Wednesday to confirm Jacqueline Berrien, currently serving as the Commission's chairwoman, General Counsel P. David Lopez, and Commissioners Victoria Lipnic and Chai R. Feldblum. All four were given recess appointments by President Barack Obama, and were sworn in in April.
