Judge Hands Feds Win In W.Va. Mining Rules Dispute

Law360 (January 3, 2011, 8:20 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Monday shot down a suit brought by two environmental groups challenging amendments to West Virginia's program implementing the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977, ruling that the U.S. Department of the Interior had properly approved the changes in 2008.
