Barnes & Noble Hit With Patent Suit Over Nook E-Reader

Law360 (January 10, 2011, 2:29 PM EST) -- Software company Deep9 Corp. has launched an infringement suit against Barnes & Noble Inc. over online database update patents allegedly used by the bookseller's Nook e-reader.

The suit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, alleges that Barnes & Noble and its online affiliate, Barnesandnoble.com LLC, infringed U.S. Patent Numbers 5,937,405 and 6,377,951.
