E.U. Renews Commitment To Unified Patent System

Law360, New York (April 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After years of starts and stops, the European Commission intends to keep pushing for a unified patent system in hopes of slashing costs and streamlining the current process for securing intellectual property rights.

The E.C. on Tuesday unveiled its vision for improving the patent system in Europe in a so-called communication, hoping to “revitalize” the long-standing debate on this topic.
