E.U. Probes iTunes Cross-Border Restrictions

Law360 (April 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has launched a probe into allegations that agreements between Apple Computer Inc. and major music labels have restricted cross-border access to Apple's online iTunes stores in violation of antitrust laws.

The executive branch of the European Union confirmed Tuesday it had sent a “Statement of Objections” to Apple and the world’s top record companies against alleged agreements to restrict on-line music sales from country to country.
