ITC Looks Into Four Possible Duty-Free Waivers

Law360, New York (January 10, 2011, 4:21 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation to see if certain products from Brazil, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Argentina should receive continued duty-free treatment.

The ITC announced Monday that it is investigating possible changes to the Generalized System of Preferences that would grant waivers allowing the duty-free importation of lysine and its esters from Brazil, tires from Sri Lanka, rubber gloves from Thailand, and calcium silicon ferroalloys from Argentina.
