Florida Workers Sue State Over Minimum Wage Rate

Law360, New York (January 10, 2011, 8:07 PM EST) -- A group of minimum wage earners sued the state of Florida on Monday for allegedly miscalculating the state minimum wage rate for 2011 and shortchanging workers out of six cents per hour.

The suit, filed in the Circuit Court for the Second Judicial Circuit of Florida, claims that the state's Agency for Workforce Innovation erroneously came up with a $7.16 per hour rate for 2011, lower than the federal minimum wage of $7.25.
