Groups Say MetroPCS Plans Violate FCC Web Rules

Law360, New York (January 11, 2011, 8:08 PM EST) -- A coalition of public interest groups have urged the Federal Communications Commission to investigate whether new data plans offered by MetroPCS Communications Inc. violate the agency's recently adopted open Internet rules.

In a Monday letter to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, the Free Press, Media Access Project and other groups painted MetroPCS' mobile broadband service plans as a vindication of predictions that the FCC's new net neutrality policies would be pushed to their limits.
