Cox Backs Clearer SOX Provision

Law360 (April 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the final stretch of a process to revise a section of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday backed its staff members’ efforts to simplify the provision and ease the expected burden on small businesses.

The agency’s commissioners and members of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board convened to discuss their ongoing efforts to revise Section 404 in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, in a meeting appropriately scheduled for April 4.
