Tessera Asks Fed. Circ. To Reverse ITC Chip Ruling

Law360 (January 14, 2011, 3:33 PM EST) -- Tessera Inc. tried Friday to persuade the Federal Circuit that the U.S. International Trade Commission wrongly determined a group of dynamic random access memory chip manufacturers did not infringe several of its semiconductor patents.

A three-judge panel in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit heard oral arguments from Tessera, the ITC, and ITC investigation respondents Elpida Memory Inc. and Acer Inc. on the issue of the doctrine of exhaustion and the nature of Tessera's licensing agreement with the respondents.
