EU Seeks Info On Drug Patent Deals From 2010

Law360, New York (January 18, 2011, 12:27 PM EST) -- The European Commission has asked pharmaceutical companies for details on patent settlements with generic-drug makers completed in 2010, continuing a probe into deals that may have delayed the entry of cheaper drugs into the market.

The European antitrust regulator said Monday it had requested that a select number of originator and generic companies turn over copies of all patent settlement agreements relevant to the European Union market concluded in 2010.

The EC did not identify which companies it had contacted for information.
