EU Seeks To Join Fight Over Chinese Wind Power Aid

Law360, New York (January 18, 2011, 6:50 PM EST) -- The European Union is seeking to join the U.S. government's World Trade Organization fight claiming China's wind power subsidies program hampers international competition and violates WTO rules because it awards grants only to manufacturers using parts made in China.

The EU asked the WTO to join in the dispute settlement consultations regarding China's wind power equipment grant program on Friday, citing its “substantial trade interest.”
