Senate Appropriators Urged To End USPTO Fee Diversion

Law360, New York (September 20, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee has written a letter to Senate appropriators, urging them to increase funding for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to avert delays of up to four years for patent applications.

In a committee report on the annual spending measure that funds the USPTO and other entities, Senate appropriators acknowledged that the agency needs more funding to execute its five-year overhaul plan.
