Pemex Spends $6.8M For Pipeline Explosion Damages

Law360, New York (January 20, 2011, 3:46 PM EST) -- Petroleos Mexicanos has so far spent 82 million pesos ($6.8 million) over claims stemming from a Dec. 19 pipeline explosion in Mexico that killed 30 people.

The Mexican state-owned oil company said in a statement Wednesday that it has provided compensation to relatives of 28 of those victims. One of the remaining victims hasn't been identified, while beneficiaries for the other have yet to be determined, according to Pemex.
