Quellos Execs Seek Minimum Sentence For $240M Fraud

Law360, New York (January 25, 2011, 4:52 PM EST) -- The founder and a former top executive of investment firm Quellos Group LLC have asked for the minimum sentences in their criminal case related to a tax shelter that allowed wealthy clients to avoid more than $240 million in taxes.

The sentencing memoranda, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, request that the court take the characters and business experience of former Quellos CEO Jeffrey Greenstein and principal Charles H. Wilk into account when doling out sentences later this week....
