Bill Aims To Exempt Kids' ATVs From Lead Limits

Law360 (January 26, 2011, 6:01 PM EST) -- Rep. Denny Rehberg, R-Mont., has introduced a bill that would exempt children's off-road vehicles from strict lead limits mandated by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008.

The lawmaker introduced H.R. 412, the Kids Just Want to Ride Act, on Tuesday, seeking to exclude children's ATVs, motorcycles and other vehicles from the law.

The CPSIA was enacted in August 2008, following a number of recalls of popular children's toys that were contaminated with unsafe levels of lead.
