NM High Court Wants Emissions Rules On Books

Law360, New York (January 26, 2011, 7:06 PM EST) -- The New Mexico Supreme Court reprimanded the state's governor Wednesday and ordered another state official to put rules limiting greenhouse gas emissions on the books, an environmental advocacy group said.

In a unanimous decision from the bench, the court chastised New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez for blocking the legislation from being immediately codified into law, according to New Energy Economy Inc., which brought the case, and its counsel the New Mexico Environmental Law Center.

Representatives for Martinez didn't immediately respond to requests for comment Wednesday....
