4th Circ. Puts Health Care Reform Fight On Fast Track

Law360 (January 26, 2011, 8:03 PM EST) -- The Fourth Circuit decided Wednesday to speed up the appeal of a pair of lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of last year's landmark health care overhaul bill. 

The two cases — one that found the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act unconstitutional and another that reached the opposite conclusion — will follow the same briefing schedule, according to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Oral arguments for the two cases will be held together in May, the appeals court said.
