EPA Sues 2 More Mining Cos. For Idaho Cleanup Costs

Law360, New York (January 27, 2011, 4:58 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has sued two more mining companies in an effort to fund the cleanup of the Bunker Hill Mining and Metallurgical Complex Superfund site in northern Idaho.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the Coeur d'Alene tribe filed the suit Tuesday on behalf of the EPA in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, requesting that Lookout Mountain Mining and Milling Co. and Silver Bowl Inc. aid with the costs of undoing the damage caused by more than 100 years...
