'CHiPs' Star To Get Lower Sentence In Fraud Case

Law360, New York (January 27, 2011, 5:17 PM EST) -- Prosecutors on Thursday agreed to cut a break for former "CHiPs" star Larry Wilcox in the penny-stock securities fraud case against him, saying his “substantial assistance” to the government warrants a reduction in sentence.

Though Wilcox agreed as part of a plea bargain to accept a sentence based on federal guidelines, prosecutors said that was not necessary, filing a motion for downward departure in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
