USDA Loosens Limits On Roundup-Ready Alfalfa

Law360 (January 28, 2011, 3:00 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture has decided to loosen its restrictions on alfalfa that has been genetically engineered to be resistant to Roundup, granting the hay nonregulated status.

The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced the decision Thursday, saying it will become effective upon publication of the determination in the Federal Register.
