W.Va.'s Manchin Gets Spot On Senate Energy Panel

Law360 (January 28, 2011, 11:56 AM EST) -- Freshman Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., who famously took a literal shot at cap-and-trade energy legislation in a campaign ad, is among 12 Democrats who will serve on a key Senate committee with jurisdiction over energy and environmental issues.

Manchin will join the Democratic side of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Chairman Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., announced Thursday, along with other committee newcomers Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.; Al Franken, D-Minn.; and Christopher Coons, D-Del., a fellow freshman.
