Ugglebo Drops Trademark Suit Over Uggs

Law360, New York (January 31, 2011, 12:22 PM EST) -- Minnesota-based footwear distributor Ugglebo Clogs LLC has dropped a suit against Deckers Outdoor Corp., the maker of Ugg boots, that alleged Deckers' use of the Ugg brand unfairly hampered its ability to sell its own products.

Ugglebo on Friday filed a motion in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota to drop its suit, in which it claimed Deckers had violated the Lanham Act by turning the previously generic term "ugg" into a trademark.
