Patent Reform Gains Momentum With 3rd Panel Vote

Law360, New York (February 3, 2011, 2:30 PM EST) -- The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday gave its near-unanimous backing to the latest iteration of legislation designed to overhaul the U.S. patenting system, giving supporters tentative hope that the third time will be a charm for the long-delayed bill.

Members of the panel voted 16-0 to report S. 23, the Patent Reform Act of 2011, with Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., voting present.
