City Stonewalling In Pay Phone Suit, Plaintiff Says

Law360, New York (February 2, 2011, 6:23 PM EST) -- A phone company is claiming the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, has refused to cooperate with document requests in a suit alleging the city's mayor illegally gave monopoly control of city pay phones to Phoneworks Inc.

The city deserves to be sanctioned and ordered to turn over documents that could shed light on the finances of its pay phone contract, plaintiff Pan-American Telephone Co. Inc. said in a motion to compel filed Saturday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico....
