Ethics Committee Taps K&L Gates Atty To Probe Ensign

Law360 (February 1, 2011, 6:21 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Ethics tapped a K&L Gates LLP attorney Tuesday to help investigate whether Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., committed financial improprieties related to his extramarital affair with the wife of a former aide.

Carol Elder Bruce, a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of K&L Gates who specializes in white collar criminal defense, complex civil litigation and congressional investigations, was appointed to serve as special counsel to the committee in its preliminary inquiry of Ensign.
