Man Charged With Smuggling Weapons Materials To Iran

Law360, New York (February 1, 2011, 6:39 PM EST) -- U.S. prosecutors have indicted an Iranian national who allegedly exported specialized metals and other goods from the U.S. through Turkey, possibly for use in Iran's ballistic missile program.

Milad Jafari, a 36-year-old citizen and resident of Iran, was hit with 11 charges in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia — a count of conspiracy to illegally export materials, five counts of illegal export and attempted illegal export to Iran and five smuggling charges, prosecutors said Tuesday.
