GOP Reps. Investigate $1.4B HHS 'Slush Fund'

Law360 (February 3, 2011, 12:43 PM EST) -- Three Republican congressmen have launched a probe into how the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is spending $1.4 billion in federal health care money they describe as a "slush fund."

In letters sent Wednesday to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the trio — all members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee — demanded to know how the department was using money it received under the 2009 stimulus and the health care reform law.
