Spain OKs Changes To Speed Gas Natural Divestments

Law360, New York (February 4, 2011, 6:51 PM EST) -- Spain's competition watchdog has agreed to let Gas Natural SDG SA change the assets it will divest to win approval of its €16.8 billion ($21 billion) acquisition of Union Fenosa, in order to speed up the sale process.

The Spanish National Competition Commission said Thursday that it would allow Gas Natural, which is now known as Gas Natural Fenosa, to swap out some of the combined-cycle gas turbine power plants and about half of the portfolio of 600,000 small gas customers it promised to divest....
