Miami Developers Get 10 Years For Tax Evasion

Law360, New York (February 4, 2011, 7:22 PM EST) -- A Miami father and son who were convicted of using offshore accounts to conceal $150 million in assets and $49 million in income from the Internal Revenue Service were each sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday.

Mauricio Cohen Assor, 77, and his son, Leon Cohen Levy, 46, were sentenced by Judge William J. Zloch of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida with Cohen Assor ordered to pay $9.4 million in restitution and Cohen Levy told to shell out $7.8 million in...
