Court Of Appeals Affirms MetLife Case Dismissal

Law360, New York (April 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed a lower court ruling dismissing a lawsuit in which former employees of Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. claimed they were eligible for a one-time retirement benefit.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals District of Columbia Circuit said in its Tuesday ruling that the language of a letter announcing the benefit clearly didn’t include those who had not retired from the insurer.
