2 NM Cities Balk At Navajo Water Rights Settlement

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 6:01 PM EST) -- Two of the largest cities in northwestern New Mexico have said they will oppose parts of a historic water rights settlement with the Navajo Nation.

Notice of the San Juan Navajo Water Rights Settlement must be sent out by the end of February, but the cities of Aztec and Bloomfield have already said they will object to portions of the agreement, their attorney, Richard B. Cole of Keleher & McLeod PA, confirmed Monday.
