Adidas Claims Riedell Roller Skates Infringe Logo

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 2:26 PM EST) -- Adidas AG has accused Riedell Shoes Inc. of copying its trademarked three-stripe logo and using it on roller skates, fast on the heels of Riedell’s bid to preempt the infringement claim in a separate suit.

The sportswear giant on Thursday told the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon that a design on Riedell’s Wicked line of roller skates violated numerous trademarks covering the design of three parallel stripes Adidas has used on shoes and other products for more than 50 years.
