Court Nixes Off-Road Vehicle Plan For Idaho Forest

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 5:50 PM EST) -- A federal judge has struck down an off-road vehicle plan for Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest, saying that although it largely withstands the legal challenges made against it, certain discrete portions fall short of relevant environmental laws.

In a decision issued Friday, Magistrate Judge Ronald E. Bush of the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho found that the plan violated the 2005 Travel Management Rule and the National Environmental Policy Act in a few substantial ways.
