EU Legislators Get Behind S. Korea Trade Pact

Law360, New York (February 7, 2011, 6:22 PM EST) -- A group of European legislators on Monday recommended approving a free trade agreement between the European Union and South Korea after Seoul promised that a new law to limit auto emissions wouldn't throw up a new barrier to vehicle imports.

The European Parliament's International Trade Committee urged the full body to sign off on the agreement as well as parallel measures to protect European industry, a move that all but ensures that the trade deal will win final approval during Parliament's mid-February session.
