TIG Says Limits Reached On Gull Oil Pollution Claims

Law360, New York (February 8, 2011, 12:05 PM EST) -- TIG Insurance Co. wants a federal judge to declare that it no longer needs to defend or indemnify Gull Oil Co. for pollution-related claims in Washington and Oregon, saying the limits of its insurance policies have been reached.

TIG, a subsidiary of Canadian financial and insurance company Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd., filed the lawsuit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. TIG issued four general liability policies to Gull in the 1980s, the suit says.
