Survivors Sue Massey Energy Over Coal Mine Fire

Law360, New York (April 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Former West Virginia coal mine workers who survived a raging blaze that killed two employees have sued Massey Energy for allegedly maintaining unsafe work conditions.

The suit follows a December 2006 negligence and wrongful death claim filed against Massey by the widows of the deceased employees and a federal report that showed a slew of safety violations led to the tragic fire.
