SC House Passes Limit On Punitive Damages

Law360, New York (February 9, 2011, 8:06 PM EST) -- The South Carolina House of Representatives has passed a tort reform bill that would limit maximum punitive damage awards at $350,000 or three times the amount of actual damages awarded, whichever is greater.

The South Carolina House voted 100-7 in favor of the South Carolina Fairness in Civil Justice Act of 2011 on Wednesday.
