BP, Chevron Seek Quick Win In La. Trespassing Suit

Law360, New York (February 10, 2011, 2:07 PM EST) -- BP PLC and Chevron Corp. have asked for summary judgment in a suit that alleges the pair trespassed on a shipping company's property for 26 years by using a pumping station in Louisiana.

The two companies filed motions for summary judgment against Gulf and Mississippi River Transportation Co. Ltd. on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.

“On its face, G&M's complaint demonstrates that there are no issues of material fact regarding its trespass claims,” the motions said.
